'Dark Knight' Marathon Set Before Premiere

Moviegoers interested in the last of the Batman series can see "The Dark Knight Rises" in more than a dozen screenings in Hiram on Friday, with the first at 12:01 a.m.

The Dark Knight Rises premieres Thursday at midnight, and it's basically a guarantee it will break ticket sale records.

The third and reported final installment of director Christopher Nolan's Batman series starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader is expected to rake in more than $150 million in its opening weekend alone.

As of July 1, 100,000 tickets were already presold.

Hiram’s is capitalizing on the hype with a Batman marathon that begins Thursday at 6 p.m. and continues for more than 8 hours. For $25, it includes Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, which lead up to the 12:01 a.m. showing of The Dark Knight Rises.

If you miss the Hiram theater’s first showing of the movie, don’t worry—you’ll have more than a dozen other screenings to choose from Friday, with the earliest starting at 11:15 a.m. and the last at 10:30 p.m.

As of early Wednesday, Fandango.com still had tickets to the movie marathon and the 12:01 showing of the trilogy’s final installment.
