Hiram’s Blockbuster To Close

Customers only have a few more days to rent movies, but the store won't shut its doors for good until later.

Paulding residents will have one less source of entertainment in the coming weeks.

Dallas-Hiram Patch has learned that the Hiram location of the Blockbuster movie rental chain will close in the coming weeks. The store is set to be included in the chain’s latest round of planned closures.

The Associated Press reported Tuesday that Blockbuster’s parent company, Dish Network Corp., plans to close about 300 Blockbuster stores across the country—a move that will displace about 3,000 employees. The company also closed 500 underperforming stores last year.
