Homemade Goodness at Stilesboro Biscuits

Good old Southern hospitality is what you will find at Stilesboro Biscuits. Located only 10 minutes from the Paulding/Cobb County line, owner Lynn has been serving up some of the best homemade biscuits for 17 years. Her vivacious charm will welcome you into her quaint, small establishment; however, don’t let the size of her restaurant fool you—it is full of warm, friendly faces as countless regulars call her by name.

Biscuits can be adorned with sausage, bacon, grits, chicken, steak, egg, cheese or gravy. Lynn uses her German grandmother’s recipe for warm cinnamon rolls, which are huge and delicious. Grab a sweet tea, soft drink, coffee or milk while you wait just a few minutes for your fresh biscuit to emerge from the heavenly kitchen. The biscuits are true to the Southern buttermilk biscuits so many of us born south of the Mason-Dixon Line grew up with. Light, fluffy and savory, these biscuits just melt in your mouth. Always served hot and freshly baked each morning. With a steady stream of customers on a Friday morning at 9, patrons can relax in the “family style” dining area, where strangers become friends. With upbeat music in the background, the walls of this simple, two-room converted house are covered in photographs of Lynn’s customers, family and friends. Lynn explains, “every picture has a story.” Her favorite photo is of the final days of a rebuilding project 10 years ago, when Stilesboro Biscuits was victim of a fire. Lynn recounts the community came together to help her rebuild and she made many friends in the process.

Now known as the “biscuit lady,” Lynn grew up in Tucker and is a true Southern delight. Soon, she will also be an author, as she continues work on her “entrepreneurial memoir.” She contributes her business success to her customers. She loves what she does and has never been motivated by making a buck. Franchising her successful breakfast spot is not in her future. She wants to maintain the consistent quality control that has made her a success in this west Cobb County community. 

It is such a delight to find a local conscientious eatery, happy to serve its customers with smiles, good food, and even entertainment—the last Saturday of each month a local bluegrass band keeps the morning hopping with their tunes. Lynn enjoys what she does and I enjoy every opportunity I get to have one of her yummy breakfast biscuits.
