Mayors Devey, Austin to Give State of Cities Address

Mayors Doris Devey and David Austin will address the forthcoming year's plans and goals as well as sharing some of their cities accomplishments over the past year.

The “State of Cities” Address to be by delivered by Austin, and Devey, will be at the Oct. 3 Georgia Power Luncheon at the Paulding County Senior Community Center, 54 Industrial Way Dallas.

“Our downtown areas are vital to our growth as a community, and both Cities are building a vibrant center of commerce,” said Carolyn Wright, president of the Paulding Chamber.

At the October luncheon the public is invited in supporting Helping Hands Ministries by bringing canned food items to replenish their pantry. This summer has seen record breaking numbers of Paulding citizens receiving meals and assistance form this organization. In July, 515 families were provided assistance reaching a total of 1493 individuals and the numbers climbed even higher for August with for this organization as they touched 1546 individuals in 546 families. Collection barrels will be at the entrance to the luncheon and your support is critical as the need to serve Paulding’s own low income families and seniors continues to grow.
