Chamber Opening Satellite Office Wednesday

The office's grand opening will be from 3 to 5 p.m., with ribbon cutting at 4 p.m.

Officials with the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce know the North Paulding community is open for business.

And on Wednesday, the Chamber will open its own satellite office there.

The grand opening of the office—located at 2538 Cedarcrest Road, Suite 109, in Acworth—is from 3 to 5 p.m., with a ribbon cutting ceremony to be held at 4 p.m.

“We opened that satellite office to better serve the north Paulding community,” Carolyn S. Delamont, Chamber president/CEO, said of the approximately 1,400 square foot office.

“There are probably close to 2,500 businesses, whether they are home-based businesses and/or already in storefronts out in that area that we want to better serve.”

Chamber leaders said the office will offer many of the same services the main one does, including networking opportunities and resources to help members learn more about the county and its cities. Members, including those who work out of their homes, also will be able to utilize the office’s meeting space.

While the office will provide several services to Chamber members, another goal of the new site is to serve as a source of information about goings-on and features of the county.

“A lot of the citizens in that area are Paulding County citizens that have moved into our county from another county,” said Kevin Kirby, the Chamber’s director of Member Services.

“So we want to be able to show to them all that Paulding has to offer, because a lot of them live in the North Paulding area and work outside of the county, so they aren’t aware of all of the things that downtown Dallas, downtown Hiram and those areas have, and the businesses that they have.

“And they put on things up there that people that live in this area aren’t aware of,” Delamont added. “So the Chamber is that bridge to get the communication going. It’s trying to pull our two communities together.”

Officials hope bridging that gap will have the effect of being good for business, and in turn, have a positive impact on the county.

“Trying to encourage them to shop Paulding, that’s very important for our (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax),” Delamont said.

“That’s one of the things that, of course, our Chamber focuses on the most—shop Paulding, keep your dollars here, and spend your dollars with Chamber members,” added Kirby.
