Starbucks Now Serves Beer, Wine at Buckhead Locations

Starbucks is also expanding its evening menu to include a variety of small plates.

In the evenings at two Buckhead Starbucks locations, you may hear baristas asking "red or white?"

The Starbucks locations–at 1230 West Paces Ferry Road near the OK Cafe and 1801 Howell Mill Road near Walmart and I-75– now serve beer and wine, along with an expanded small plates menu starting at 4 p.m.

The Howell Mill location held a taste test for customers Thursday. The new expanded menu includes bacon-wrapped dates with balsamic glaze, truffle mac and cheese, chocolate fondue, and artichoke and goat cheese flatbread. The drink menu includes from prosecco, riesling, pinot noir, malbec and more.

Starbucks has been testing the beer and wine market since 2009 and announced last December that it would expand the alcohol sales to five other cities to continue the market test.

Clarice Turner, Starbucks' senior vice president of U.S. operations, said earlier this year that the company has no plans to offer beer and wine in all of its 17,000 world-wide cafes.

Other Atlanta Starbucks locations now selling alcohol include: Roswell (10800 Alpharetta Hwy.) and Duluth (9700 Medlock Bridge Road).

What do you think about the new menu, wine and beer offerings at Starbucks? Why do you think two of the four locations selling alcohol are in Buckhead? Will you try the new menu, beer or wine? Tell us below in the comments.

Red or white? Hmmm... well actually according to the CDC alcohol kills 80,000 people every year in the U.S. while marijuana kills none, and marijuana's addiction potential is only about that of coffee. So if we're really interested in protecting people and reducing harm in Georgia then I think we should legalize marijuana like beer and wine.
