Vincent’s: Appetizing, Appealing & Authentic

Great Italian food without requiring a trip to Italy.

If you are looking for New York style Italian food, travel 20 minutes east on Dallas Highway, turn left on Barrett Parkway and dine at Vincent’s. A father (Rocky) and son (Paul) team have opened this New York/New Jersey style family dinning restaurant to fill a void of good, traditional Italian food in the west Cobb/East Paulding county area.

Offering a full bar and modest wine list, Vincent’s has classic baked ziti, lasagna, chicken saltimbocca or veal parmigiana. However, extraordinary pasta fagioli with meatballs, rigatoni ala vodka, mussels and New York style pizzas are among the 50 items offered on the menu. Dinners are led to their tables past a stunning dessert carousel with a beautiful tiramisu, various cakes and pies, enticing you to skip the main course and jump straight to dessert. But do not succumb to your temptations; dinner is well worth the patience of having a four-course Italian meal.

Dinners are served with garlic rolls and most entrees include a house or Caesar salad. My antipasto course was fried calamari with a roasted red pepper aioli dip. Intrigued by the chef’s lasagna special, I enjoyed spinach, chicken and cheese layered in the traditional lasagna fashion as my main course. My compliments to the chef, as I would not have attempted to prepare this dish at home. The fettuccini carbonara was tossed with bacon, onion and sausage in an alfredo sauce.  Enjoyable, succulent and pleasing to the palate, I would recommend trying this home-style menu.

The warm atmosphere is conducive for family-style dinning. A quaint, separate dinning room is available for larger parties. Dinner entrée prices range from $13 to $20. Serving lunch and dinner, expect a minimal wait on Friday and Saturday nights. Reservations are only accepted for parties of six or more. Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. I plan to return to try their very popular homemade pizzas.
