Maggie & Molly

Both of these girls are great dogs who deserve a second chance and an opportunity to show just how special and loving they can be.

Maggie ID#4144 &  Molly ID #4096

Maggie and Molly are two great little dogs who deserve forever homes.

Maggie came to the shelter on March 29th 2012 as a stray. She has been fully vetted and spayed and is current on her rabies and all other vaccinations. The staff have taken to calling her smiles a lot as she smiles when she sees a familiar face. Maggie is a female Lab/Pit mix, 2 years old and a complete joy to be around. She loves people and gets along easily with other dogs.

Molly Came to the shelter on March 27th as an owner surrender. She is a lab female approximately 2 years old and as sweet and good natured a dog as she can be. She loves people and attention and she tries very hard to demonstrate her good qualities when given the opportunity. She gets along well with other dogs and she is Maggies friend.

If you’re interested in adopting Maggie or Molly, or any of the other dogs or cats that are available, please visit the Douglas County Animal Shelter located at 1755 County Services Road (off Cedar Mountain Road). The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed to the public on Monday, but open to rescue organizations on Mondays. The summer months are the critical months to adopt and rescue, so please consider giving one of these dogs or cats a loving adn forever home.

To learn about other animals available for adoption at Douglas County Animal Control, view their PetFinder listings on their website. or come see the DCAC pets posted and profiled daily at Rainbow Connections on Facebook or come see their other current profiles and postings on our sister page Furbabies of DCAS.

Pet listings on these pages are updated daily, however, some animals featured may be adopted prior to your arrival and that after all is the goal. If the pet you are interested in has been adopted, please consider giving another of the many loveable pets an opportunity to be your forever friend and allow them to show you just how special they each are when they are given a chance.

Adoption fees for dogs and cats at DCAC is $25 and there is a $10 micro chip fee. $35 for the opportunity to make a friend for life and the opportunity to give a fur kid a forever home is a small price to pay. All dogs presently receive intake inoculations for kennel cough, parvo and distemper (cats receive distemper as part of a five way vaccination). All pets adopted from the shelter are required to have their rabies shots and be spayed or neutered within thirty days of adoption, unless they are kittens or puppies and they are given extended times. The Douglas County Animal Shelter phone: 770-942-5961. If the line is busy, please keep trying as there is often limited staff to answer calls. However, messages left will be returned as time permits.
