GDOT Plans Improvements at Paulding Intersection

Land has to be acquired first.

The Georgia Department of Transportation plans to add traffic signals and turning lanes at the intersection of Georgia Highway 61 and Nebo-Mayfield roads.

The Paulding Neighbor reports that “the purpose of the project is to reduce crash frequency and severity at the intersection and improve the operation of the intersection.”

GDOT spokesman Mohamed Arafa told the paper that there were 43 crashes at the intersection between 2004 and 2011.

Twenty resulted in injuries, according to the Neighbor.
