Hot Weather, Hot Deals in Your Headlines

Here are a few things to know as you begin your Thursday.

1. Hot and possibly rainy is your forecast for today.

The National Weather Service says we can expect a 30-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Beyond that, we should see mostly sunny skies and a high near 96 with heat index values as high as 104. Winds of  5 to 10 could gust as high as 15 mph. The 30-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms should continue to about 8 p.m., with partly cloudy skies continuing after that, bringing the evening low to about 72.

2. Speaking of hot weather, Paulding County Schools on Wednesday made the call to yesterday and today.
