Attorney Confirms William Wilson Heaton is the Hit-and-Run Suspect in Athens

Emily Bowman lies in a hospital bed in Athens Regional, recovering from severe injuries she sustained in a hit-and-run accident on Feb. 16. The man suspected of hitting her, and then leaving the scene of the accident, is William Wilson Heaton, 22, of Cartersville.

He has yet to be arrested but does have an attorney who has been in touch with Athens Clarke County Police, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald. Read more on Athens Patch.

Man Indicted in Lanier Watercraft Death of Usher's Stepson

Jeffrey Hubbard, who was driving the personal watercraft that was involved with the death of Atlanta youth Kile Glover on Lake Lanier last year, has been indicted by a Hall County grand jury.

Hubbard, described as a friend of Glover's family, has been indicted on
the following charges: homicide by vessel, serious injury by vessel, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft, and boat traffic violation, according to a Department of Natural Resources news release. Read more on Duluth Patch.

Trail of White Powder Leads WCSO Deputies to Fugitive Hiding in Attic in Monroe HomeΒ 

When Walton County Sheriff's Deputies went to serve a warrant at a home on Covington Street in Monroe on Feb. 27, they were able to hear someone moving quickly to the back of the house.

But it was the trail of white powder on the mouth of the person answering the door, as well as on the steps of the ladder leading to the attic, that gave him away.

Timothy Chad Reeves was arrested on a Gwinnett County warrant, along with his girlfriend, Mandie Kampsen, after Reeves was located in the attic. Read more on Monroe Patch.
