No Lack of News Before Our Holiday Weekend

A holiday weekend is about to start, but we've still got a few things you should know.

1. Sunny and warm remains the forecast du jour for another day.

The National Weather Service says we can expect a lot of sunshine and a high near 93, with only winds of about 5 mph. The mercury will drop to the mid 60s tonight under partly cloudy skies.

The weather during the daytime hours Saturday is expected to be similar to today’s predicted conditions, with the exception being slightly stronger winds, but late Saturday night/early Sunday is when we start to see the possibility of rain, with the chance of showers and thunderstorms at 20 percent. That probability will increase to 50 percent on Labor Day, while the extended forecast beyond Labor Day has each day showing at least a 20-percent chance of showers and storms.
