Possible Severe Weather Tonight Including Large Hail, Tornadoes

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop and become severe this afternoon due to a cold front approaching the state from the west and headed into Paulding County.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop and become severe this afternoon due to a cold front approaching the state from the west, according to a report sent out by the Paulding County Sheriff's Department. The squall line is expected to enter the area between 5 and 9 p.m. this evening. There is a possibility that a few storms may develop ahead of the line and become severe.

Primary hazards will be damaging winds, large hail and a few embedded tornadoes.

Chance of precipitation is 100 percent with rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

ALL INTEREST ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA ARE ADVISED TO CLOSELY MONITOR THIS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS FRONTAL SYSTEM AND REMAIN ALERT FOR POSSIBLE SEVERE STORMS FROM LATER THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT.
