It’s been said that it takes a village to raise a child. But it’s bound to take an entire community working together to help bring in $100,000 for the children in Paulding County Schools.
Voting is underway in Patch’s Deck the House contest. There are 25 finalists in the contest but only one winner will earn the grand prize—$100,000 for their community’s school system.

The Felix family’s Dallas home was one of the 25 chosen for having spectacular holiday lights and decorations. Their home was named a finalist last year and came so close to bringing Paulding County Schools the contest's $100,000 grand prize—it placed second in the nationwide voting.
This is where you come in. Until Dec. 28, you can visit this page to browse a gallery of the finalists and cast your vote; you can vote once per day.
To help spread the word, we’re sharing two versions of a flyer that advertises the contest and includes a QR code that most smart phones can scan to be taken directly to the website featuring the Felix family’s entry. We invite you to print as many as you like and put them on display or distribute them.
The flyers are attached to this article in PDF form.
Our thanks go out to East Paulding Middle School Media Specialist Kara Bechtel for creating the original flyer, and to Joey Felix for sharing it with us.
Dallas-Hiram Patch Editor Jon Gargis has a few printed copies of the attached flyers. If you would like some copies to distribute to passers-by or to display, email Jon at email@example.com.
We hope you’ll take a few brief moments to vote each day, and you’re welcome to spread the word by using the flyers and through social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
On Dec. 29, we’ll announce the grand prize winner of our Deck the House contest. Will it be the Felix home and the Paulding County School System?
