Two Arrested in Armed Robbery

They are in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond. One suspect has a hold on her release out of Paulding County.

Two Douglas County women have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the Blair Bridge Road Budget Inn in Austell.

Rhonda Faye Tyler of Lithia Springs allegedly rented the room where the armed robbery occurred and lured a man to the room "with the promise of a 'party,' " according to an arrest warrant.

About 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Tyler left the room. That's when her suspected accomplices, Brittany Renee Simpkins of Douglasville and an unidentified male, allegedly entered the room and overpowered the man, according to the warrant.

The unidentified male accomplice threatened to kill the man and allegedly used a handgun to strike him on the head several times, records show. Simpkins and the accomplice allegedly took the man's wallet, cell phone, car keys and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, police said.

Tyler and Simpkins were arrested on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery. They are in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond. Simpkins has two holds on her release, one out of Paulding County and another out of Rockmart.
