Egg Candling Certification Class

Call the Georgia Department of Agriculture at

770-535-5955. 

You will need to furnish your name, mailing address, email address,  and preferred class time.  · Classes will be in two hour intervals starting at 8 am, 10 am, 12 am and 2 pm  (4 separate classes). Time slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

This class teaches proper egg candling procedures meeting Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) standards  & giving individuals the information necessary to obtain an egg candling certificate or license.

Anyone aiming to sell eggs to individuals or at a farmers market must hold an egg candling certificate. Also, anyone aiming to sell eggs to a grocery store, bakery or restaurant must have their candling facilities licensed by the GDA's Consumer Protections Division. The license can be obtained by successfully taking and passing a written examination and candling examination, according to information provided by the GDA.
