Pastries & Poetry

The Paulding County Writers’ Guild (PCWG), in association with the Book Shelter Writers Group (BSWG), is proud to announce our first ever Pastries and Poetry that will take place on October 13, 2012. Held in conjunction with the Hiram Pumpkin Patch Festival, Pastries and Poetry is hosted by the always charming Teacups & Cupcakes teahouse located at 159A Main Street, Hiram, GA. Festival starts at 10 AM and readings start promptly at 2 PM. Both events are open to the public, with free admission, so bring the family down for a full day of art & literature.

Pastries and Poetry will have you on your feet, interacting with local writers in ways that will surprise you. This is not a run-of-the-mill poetry reading event like a poetry slam – this is a completely unique event only found in Paulding County. Come join the PCWG to celebrate member’s poetry, inspirations, and endeavors while you browse local author’s published books and eat decadent cupcakes. Listen to poetry readings from local writers and learn about the PCWG’s writing contest for middle school students over a nice, hot cup of tea. Inspire us by joining in this event – as your story could be the next we read…and publish!

Teacups & Cupcakes will be open, with a full offering of menu items for sale. Feel free to come in and sit for a spell, purchase some goodies, and enjoy hearing from and meeting local authors. For additional information on Teacups & Cupcakes, please see their website at http://teacupsandcupcakes.net/
