Greg Nall found himself in a serious traffic situation, and he had to make a split second decision. He made his choice, and it ended up saving lives. Nall is being called a hero, but he paid a price for his heroics.
Nall is a vendor who services convenience stores around metro Atlanta. Seven weeks ago, he was done with work for the day, but he wanted to get ahead on his work and decided to visit just a couple more stores.

“I came upon another exit at Fulton Industrial,” explained Nall.
It was at that moment he realized something was wrong. His brakes were non-existent.

“The light had just changed red, and I looked and every lane is taken. And that’s when I started panicking,” said Nall.
He then had to make a decision — hit cars and hurt other people, or hit trees and possibly hurt himself.
“I was just trying to pick something out to slow me down. When I was at the top of the hill, that was the first thing that came to my mind. I’m not going to hit anybody. It wasn’t going to happen. I would have killed myself before I did that,” said Nall.
He chose the second option and aimed for the trees.
“I couldn’t believe how hard the impact was,” said Nall.
His left leg bore the brunt of the impact. It was nearly severed. Fortunately, paramedics were sitting in the same traffic he avoided hitting, and they were at the scene of Nall’s accident within seconds.
“They saved my life,” Nall said.
Recently, he had a chance to thank them when the men received an award. They saved his life but they couldn’t save the leg. It hasn’t slowed him down one bit. Nall says he remains an active man.
Nall says he is grateful to his family, friends and total strangers who have sent him well wishes through calls, texts and Facebook. His community has gotten together, and they’re putting on a benefit tennis tournament to help with his recovery.
