Today on GoFundMe: Pump for Bailee

Each Thursday in December, Patch is highlighting a local GoFundMe campaign in the area.

Today's focus is Pump for Bailee. From the fund-raising page:

"Our 2 year old little girl was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in February of this year. Type 1 Diabetes is a life threatening auto immune disease that requires several doses of insulin and 24 hour monitoring of blood sugar levels. Currently she has to get 5-7 shots a day, get her finger pricked 8-10 times a day, and we count endless carbs all to ensure she stays healthy.

Even with all this work she still struggles to maintain a normal blood sugar which effects her whole day and everything she does. Not to mention the risks of heart disease, thyroid disease, kidney failure, blindness, etc

We were all set to get her a pump that will help her get more accurate doses of insulin and reduce or eliminate the need for shots all day. The insurance company was going to cover it since we had met our out of pocket max, then at the very last minute decides that they will not pay anything of it until next year which that's when our policy starts over.

The pump costs almost $10,000 and when our insurance starts over we will have to meet our new out of maximum which is $7000!

Please help us raise this money so we can provide the best medical care for Bailee Bug! "
