Yogurt Event Raises $402 to Help Fight 'Bella's' Leukemia

Between 40 to 50 people turned out Wednesday at a fundraiser, held at Hiram's Yogli Mogli, to support six-year-old Isabella "Bella" Rice and her fight against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

"Between the percentage of the sales we received and the donations left in the jar for Bella, we raised $402.68!" Caran Rice, Bella's mom reported to Patch.

The next upcoming events include:

*Jan. 18, (all day event 11 to 9 p.m.): Stevi-B's Pizza in Hiram *You must mention you're there for the Bella fundraiser for it to be counted at this event.
*Jan. 30, (from 5 to 8 p.m.): Chick-fil-A in Hiram
*Friday, May 16,: Paulding County Relay for Life Walk at White Oak Park in Dallas, GA. This will be "Team Bella" to raise money for cancer research through The American Cancer Society. People can join our team and walk with us, get donations, donate themselves, etc. on our team page: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/teambella.

The Bella team is also talking with Deletebloodcancer.org about hosting several donor drives...one being at the Relay for Life Walk. All you have to do is swab your mouth with a cotton swab and you can be entered into a registry database and could save someone's life! They will post these dates on their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/isabellavsleukemia.

Also, Bella's Crafty Kids organization's website is up and running: http://www.bellascraftykids.org/. The organization is always in need of donations of art supplies, baskets, money for supplies, and volunteers to help assemble baskets.
