If You Could Save a Life in 5 Minutes, Would You?

This six-year-old battling leukemia is hoping you will.

Six-year-old Hiram resident Isabella Rice has a birthday wish: she wants more people to register as potential bone marrow donors through Delete Blood Cancer, an organization that helps children fighting leukemia.

With aspirations of becoming a Disney or Nickeloden illustrator by day and moonlighting as an oncology nurse on the weekends, Isabella has big plans that we can help make a reality by registering with Delete Blood Cancer today.

Check out the rest of her story below from Delete Blood Cancer:

Isabella Rice never had any medical issues but then what began as stomach pains in October 2013 soon developed into something severe. She was taken to a local emergency room where she had an enlarged spleen due to build-up of abnormal blood cells. Two days later, Isabella was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Kimberly Duncan, a Georgia donor recruiter for Delete Blood Cancer, said in a press release, "Cancer kills more children in the U.S. than any other disease, and blood cancers, like leukemia are the most commonly diagnosed afflictions. We want more people to realize that a simple cheek swab and a registration form could be the difference that these children and others need to beat cancer."

Isabella’s mother, Caran Rice, has teamed up with Delete Blood Cancer to search for a donor match for her daughter. “Isabella has been in and out of the hospital, and just wants an opportunity to be a normal girl. This year we get to celebrate her birthday in a special way with Delete Blood Cancer, and we hope that people registering online will allow those suffering to enjoy many more birthdays to come.”

Isabella is fighting for her life on a daily basis but she also has dreams for her future. It only takes a cheek swab and five minutes of your time to be a potential life-saving hero.
