Dorothy Elizabeth Wood White, 74, Dies

Dorothy Elizabeth Wood White, 74 of Dallas, passed away on Friday, Dec. 13, at Kennestone Hospital.

Mrs. White was born on May 20, 1939 in Rockmart, GA., the daughter of the late Herschel Eugene Wood and the late Margaret Elizabeth Carter Wood. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking and riding four-wheelers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Dave Gazaway; daughter in law, Cathy Gazaway; brothers, David, James and Herschel G. Wood; and a sister, Gertrude Elaine Wood.

Mrs. White is survived by her husband, Marvin Gene White; seven children, June Furtado and her husband, Steve, Jerry Gazaway, Annette Gunter and her husband, Joe, Lonnie White and his wife, Penny, Jack Gazaway, Robbie White and his wife, Sonya, and Roger Bacon and his wife, Leslie; twenty-nine grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; and a brother, Charles D. Wood.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Landmon officiating. Interment services will follow in the Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens, 581 Bankhead Highway, Mableton, GA 30059. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.
