Funeral Announcements: Feb. 24

James W. Garrard: The 92-year-old Powder Springs resident died Feb. 21, 2012. He was a resident of Powder Springs for 82 years. The family will receive visitors Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. Garrard will lie in state at Praise Tabernacle Friday from 1 to 2 p.m., with service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tommy Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Powder Springs Cemetery

Steve Clinton Walters Jr.: The 34-year-old Acworth resident died Feb. 22, 2012. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bellamy Funeral Home Powder Springs Chapel with the Rev. Joel Frasier officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Norman Earl Martin: March 9, 1932 - Feb. 22, 2012. Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. from Clark Funeral Home, with the Rev. Durwood Perry and the Rev. Gary Ellison officiating. Interment will follow in Old Roswell Cemetery in Roswell.

Catherine Harris Young: Aug. 13, 1917 - Feb. 23, 2012. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Morris and Dr. Jim Burdette officiating. Brian Powers, Chris Conley, Bobby Murphy, Keith Cherry, Cooper Murphy and Gene Harris will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Wil Powers. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Feb. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
