Betty Gail Jacks: Sept. 18, 1944 - July 27, 2012.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 30, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Brother Tom Payne officiating. Interment will follow in the Sweetwater Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Backus Jr., Jason Backus, Jared Backus, Kevin Cape, Duane Cape and Kyle McMichen.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, July 29, from 4 to 9 p.m.; and Monday, July 30, from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Scarlette Lanier Newnam: May 23, 1965 - July 27, 2012. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Keheley officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, July 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Thomas R. Powell: Sept. 7, 1941 - July 16, 2012. The 70-year-old Rockmart resident passed away at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Fla., following an extended illness. A graveside service will be held at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park on Sunday, July 29, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Danny Echols officiating. The bagpipes will be played by Steve Thrasher. Serving as pallbearers will be David Powell, Jason Powell, Joshua Powell, Wesley Powell, Ethan Powell and Norman Clanton. Interment will immediately follow the service.
