Georgia Christine 'Chris' Sawyer, 84, Dies

Georgia Christine “Chris” Sawyer, 84 of Smyrna, passed away Wednesday Dec. 25. Services will be held 2 p.m. today, Dec. 29 at Bellamy Chapel Powder Springs. Rev. Lee Sharp and Speaker Rev. Sam Locklear Officiating.

Interment will follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery.

Preceded in death by Parents: Rev. Pilgram and Nellie Hice Land. Daughter: Penny Miccoli and Sister: Lucille Sharp. Survivors Include: 2 Daughters: Teresa Jones of Macon and Robbie Brown of Marietta. 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Sawyer was born in Blue Ridge, GA, on July 2, 1929, but spent the majority of her life in Cobb County. She spent her life dedicated to the Lord's service, playing the piano for years at several Churches and singing with her daughters for years all over the area at different Churches.
