James Oliver Cole, 71, Dies

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, Dec. 27, from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.

James Oliver Cole, 71 of Dallas, passed away on Monday, Dec. 23, at Wellstar Paulding Hospital.

Mr. Cole was born on March 1, 1942 in Dallas, the son of the late Oscar William Cole and the late Hattie Lou Thomason Cole. He was a retired self-employed construction worker and loved fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, G. W. and Billy Cole and sisters, Faye Moore and Peggy Washington.

Mr. Cole is survived by his wife, Brenda Pace Cole; four children, Cathy Cole Ramey and her husband, Randy, Nancy Cole Cash and her husband, Jeff, Melissa Marie Cotton and her husband, Paul and William O. Cole and his wife, Anita; five grandchildren, Nicole Williams and her husband, Joey, Adam Ramey, Krista Cotton, Jacob Cotton, and James (Jamey) Cole and three sisters, Lucille Johnson, Mildred Thomason, and Mary Jane Mitchell.

Funeral services for Mr. Cole will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, at noon p.m. in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Wyatt and Mr. Cole’s son, William officiating. Interment services will follow in the Paulding Memorial Gardens.
