Kathleen 'Kathie' Mackey, 62, Dies
Memorial services will be held at Clark Funeral Home, Hiram. Visitation at 1 p.m. with services to follow at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17.
Kathleen (Kathie) Mackey, 62 of Dallas, formerly of Taylor, MN., died peacefully on Jan. 12, at Cobb Hospital in Austell. Born June 20, 1951 in Detroit, MN., she is predeceased by her parents, Joseph Peterson Drwiega and Grace Marie Drwiega of Acworth, and her late husband of 28 years, Kenneth Wayne Mackey of Acworth.
Kathie was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. Kathie expressed her life thru music and has passed this down thru her family. She had a passion for helping people. This showed in her time with the Jaycees and the lasting friendships she had made.
Survivors include her Children, Kim Simon of Wyandotte, MI, Kurt (Betsy) Mackey of Dallas, GA, and Karyn (Keith) Turner of Dallas, GA; Loving Sister, Karen (Dale) Richardson of Cross Hill, SC; grandchildren, Cody, Heaven, Zach, Sarin, Kayla, and Kyle; and 1nephew (like a son) Chad; as well as her pets: Bailey (dog), Shilo (bird).
