Patricia 'Pat' Ann Clay Blanton, 68, Dies

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 9, from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 10, from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Patricia “Pat” Ann Clay Blanton, 68 of Dallas, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

Pat was born on April 12, 1945, in Talladega, AL., to loving parents Walter Jackson Clay and Hazel Catherine Grizzard Williams. Pat loved her family and spending time with them. She was a wonderful homemaker. She also enjoyed watching television and her favorite Soap Opera was Days of Our Lives.

Pat is survived by her husband of 52 years Mr. Johnny Blanton; three daughters Donna & Paul Gonterman , Sherol & Joe Nelson all of Dallas, and Lisa Shaddix & Russell of Lowell; six grandchildren Jason White of Paulding, Amber and Greg Thorpe of Villa Rica, Alayna Weldon of Dallas, Lindsay and Stanley Summerville of Carrollton, Krista Bradberry of Mississippi, and Bobby Meadows of Temple; ten great grandchildren; one sister Kathy & Richard Smith of Lynn Haven, FL; mother Mrs. Hazel Williams of Dallas; step mother Mrs. Lucille Clay of Cedartown; several nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her father Mr. Walter Clay, and one brother Mr. Danny Clay.

Funeral services for Pat Blanton will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Johnny Greer, Reverend Jimmy Davis, and Reverend Jackie Sanders officiating. Greg Thorpe, Bobby Meadows, Joe Nelson, Percy Lillie, Richard Smith, and Drew Seals will serve as pallbearers, with Blanton Young serving as honorary pallbearer. Interment will follow at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 9, from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 10,  from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.
