Weldon Bruce Long, age 88, U.S. Air Force Vet
Graveside Services will be held Sunday at New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery in Dallas.

Weldon Bruce Long, age 88, of Mableton, passed away on the morning of Thursday June 26, 2014 at WellStar Cobb Hospital.
He was one of nine children born to Merrick and Nellie Long. They raised him in Fairmount, Georgia where he was born in 1926.
After graduating from high school, Mr. Long served his country in the United States Air Force for many years. He successfully completed service training courses and received several commendations. Mr. Long retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1965.
Mr. Long later worked as a warehouse foreman for the Fulton County Board of Education.
He was a kind man who lended a helping hand to his neighbors and community.
Weldon is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Josephine Cleaver Long and his son, Steven Long of Nashville, Tennessee.
Graveside Services will be held Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 1:00 PM at New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery in Dallas with Rev. Terry Braswell officiating. Interment will follow.
