WWII Vet Fred Lander Dies

Memorial Service for Mr. Lander will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, 2 p.m. at Benson Funeral Home Chapel.

Fred Lander of Plainwell, MI., passed away last Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the home of his daughter in Dallas. Mr. Lander was married for 67 years to his wife, Mary (Bosanic) Lander. 

Mr. Lander is survived by: 
Wife, Mrs. Mary (Bosanic) Lander; Son, Mr. and Mrs. Tim (MaryAnn) Lander of Delton, Michigan; Son, Mr. Daniel Lander of Joppa, Alabama; Daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donal (Tammi) Imbordino of Dallas, Ga.; Daughter, Ms. Tina Lander of Richland, Michigan; Granddaughters, Ms. Taya Pollens of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Ms. Heather Lander of Delton, Michigan and Mrs. Tema Hoskins of Rydal, Georgia; Great Grandchildren, Kasandra Morales, Connor Pollens, Laken Hoskins, Landen Hoskins and Lillyen Hoskins. 
Mr. Lander was preceded in death by his daughter, Mrs. Ed (Terry) Smith of Plainwell, Michigan. 

Mr. Lander was the oldest of seven Children and grew up in Manistique, Michigan. He was a WWII Veteran of Patton's third army. After returning from the European theatre of WWII, he married Mary Bosanic on May 24, 1946. Mr. Lander raised his family (five children) in Lower Michigan (Plainwell). He was a great American, Husband, Father and friend to all who had the honor of knowing him. He loved greatly and was loved greatly and will be missed. 

Memorial Service for Mr. Lander will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, 2 p.m. at Benson Funeral Home Chapel. 

The Lander family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 2 p.m.
