Tell the TRUTH Todd Pownall!!!

Todd Pownall is virtually running unopposed this election… plain and simple. However, he has chosen only recently, really since Oct 2013, to become involved in the county.

Todd Pownall opposes the airport, or that’s what he tells his base constituents. He has aligned himself with a group of people that tend to think the government (all levels) are out to get them and screw over the people of this county. This is far from the truth!

Todd Pownall is either inept at his elected position or he is lying to people of Paulding County.

Todd Pownall is not a member of the Paulding County Airport Authority and was not included in the negotiations and lease agreements signed with Silver Comet Terminal Partners in October and November 2012.

Todd Pownall did not attend the Paulding County Airport Authority meetings when those two leases were approved by the board.

Todd Pownall never requested the lease agreements to review them in an effort to be educated himself on the changes coming to the airport.

Todd Pownall did not attend the 2013 State of the County Address, held by the Chamber of Commerce, in March 2013. At this address Chairman David Austin told everyone in attendance there was a deal in the works and more information would be forthcoming. What most people didn’t know, due to confidentiality letters, the airport authority was in negotiations with Allegiant Air to begin limited commercial air service to leisure destinations, i.e. Orlando, FL and other beach locales.

After a teaser announcement at the 2013 State of the County Address he never once inquired during a 6 month period about the lease agreements, nor inquired about the on-going negotiations with Allegiant Air.

Todd Pownall voted for the 600 foot emergency runway extension in the July 23, 2013 Board of Commissioners meeting. In fact, he seconded the vote. Never once did he question why the runway extension was needed.

Todd Pownall voted unanimously for the Aircraft Recovery Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicle in the August 13, 2013 Board of Commissioners meeting. Never once did he question why the ARFF vehicle was needed.

Todd Pownall states in October 2013 that he was misled by the board and he didn’t know what was going on at the airport.

Is this the political stance he wants to take?

Are we to believe he blindly voted for the runway extension and the ARFF vehicle contracts and truly didn’t know what was going on at the airport?

If he truly didn’t know about the plans then why didn’t he ask why these two contracts were necessary since the airport had been operating for 5 years without them?

Are we to believe he was a willing participant when he decided to waste tax payers’ money on contracts that weren’t necessary for the past five years the airport had been operating?

Are we to believe information was withheld from him when every vote for the commercialization was made in Open Meetings and followed state laws?

Are we to believe he truly knew nothing???

Todd Pownall is pandering to his base, and it’s my opinion he knew about the airport plans and will support the airport’s future once the election is over.

If Todd Pownall truly didn’t know anything, then why didn’t engage himself enough in the airport?  The airport is the only large infrastructure project in his post and you would think he would want to know everything going on at the airport; it’s not as if he had any other large projects to manage.
