12-Year-Old Boy Found After Reported Missing

Authorities say Noah Buran has been found.

(Updated 11:35 p.m.) The Paulding County Sheriff's Office late Monday night said a 12-year-old boy reported missing has been found.

PSCO Cpl. Brandon Gurley said Noah Buran, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and reactive attachment disorder and is on medication, had gotten upset and home and took off into the woods. Noah was found about 10:30 p.m. along Harmony Grove Church Road—within a mile of his residence.

"Other than being cold, he was OK and alert," Gurley said.

Gurley said authorities found Noah thanks to a residents' tip following the sheriff's office use of Nixle.com, which puts out alerts to users via the web, e-mail and text message. The service the department uses to interact with the community.

"The citizens up here received that [Nixle alert], and a lot of them went out looking for him," Gurley said. "It was one of those citizens that spotted him and called 911."

Gurley said the family was "extremely happy" after Noah was found safe.

The sheriff's office sent the Nixle alert over Noah's disappearance after the child had been last seen on Harmony Grove Church Road near North Paulding High School about 3:45 p.m.
