Dallas Girl Still Missing One Month Later

Dallas Police on Friday confirmed that a 15-year-old girl reported missing Sept. 20 has yet to be found one month later.

Mariel Shields was reported missing from her Dallas home last month, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Earlier this month, Det. Allen Herd with the Dallas Police Department said that Mariel at that time telling people she was 20 years old.

Herd on Friday told Dallas-Hiram Patch that while Mariel’s whereabouts are unknown, authorities believe she is in the metro Atlanta area.

Mariel is described as 5-feet-3-inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Her ears, nose and tongue are pierced, and she has a birthmark on her lower back.

Those with information on Mariel Shields’ whereabouts are asked to call the Dallas Police Department at 770-443-8100.
