Bicyclist Killed Saturday

There was a bicycle fatality in Paulding County on Saturday morning.

A bicyclist was killed on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 12:09 a.m. in an accident with an auto at U.S. 278 and Wayside Lane, near the Clear Creek subdivision, according to Corporal Ashley Henson, Paulding County Sheriff's Office.

The name of the bicyclist is Philip Martin Payne, 52, from Cedartown, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Payne was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paulding County deputies responded to secure the scene of the accident.

The accident is being investigated by the GSP. No charges have been filed.
