Crash Downs Power Lines in Dallas Friday

Power was believed to have been restored to the area by 5 p.m. Friday. No major injuries were reported on the driver involved in the crash.

Paulding County residents were asked to steer clear of portions of Cartersville Highway throughout the day Friday following a morning crash and the resulting repairs in the afternoon.

Officials with the Georgia State Patrol worked the one-vehicle crash that happened about 10:20 a.m. at 8651 Highway 61. A 2011 Kia Soul driven by Marie Glover, 61, of Dallas was going northbound when her vehicle left the roadway and hit a utility pole. Paulding residents were notified of an hourlong traffic detour around the area shortly after the crash.

Glover was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital following the crash to be checked for possible injuries.
