Daycare Worker Arrested for Battery

The mother of a 5-year-old told authorities she had noticed marks on her son.

Angeles Westmoreland, 47, of Hiram was arrested Thursday for battery involving a 5-year-old boy that was said to have occurred at , 52 Greenfield Road, Hiram. She was released on bond Thursday.

According to a release Friday from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, the 5-year-old was a student of Westmoreland at the academy when the incident is alleged to have occurred. The child’s mother contacted the sheriff's office on July 21 after noticing marks on her son. The case was then turned over to the . 

CAC was created in 2006 to focus on cases that involve victims under the age of 18 and to monitor sex offenders that are registered in Paulding County. CAC works closely with outside agencies as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). MDT is made up of law enforcement, the district attorney’s office, Department of Family and Children’s Services, Harbor House and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. MDT meets weekly to discuss open cases that are under investigation.
