Douglas, Paulding Robberies May Be Linked

No arrests have been made in last week's robbery in Douglasville, nor one that happened late last year in South Paulding.

A robbery at a Douglasville business last week could be tied to a similar crime that remains unsolved more than seven months later.

The and last week announced they were seeking two men on Bankhead Highway. Authorities report that one of the two suspects fired a round as they entered the store and robbed the clerk of the cash. The two may have been dropped off at the business by a gray, four-door car with fog lights.

Fox 5 Atlanta reported Sunday that the Douglasville crime could be related to the robbery of a restaurant in South Paulding.

“The M.O. matches another robbery that occurred up in Paulding County. We believe these individuals may either live or hang around Paulding County, and they struck a Waffle House there previously some months back,” Douglasville Police Detective Clint Ratliff told the TV station.

The Waffle House at 4865 Ridge Road, Douglasville—a Paulding County address—. Witnesses say two black males wearing masks and gloves were involved in the incident; one was described as tall and the other short, but both with medium build. Witnesses also added that a handgun was present during the robbery.

Paulding authorities have yet to link November’s incident in their jurisdiction to last week’s robbery in Douglas County.

“There is speculation that the two incidents may be connected. But it does not go any further than speculation. There is no hard evidence leading us to believe that they are connected,” Cpl. Ashley Henson of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office told Dallas-Hiram Patch on Monday.

Henson said investigators are currently looking into the Waffle House robbery. —the first occurring Nov. 23 at a , while the second happened Nov. 28 at . Both businesses had the address of 6525 Hiram Douglasville Highway in Douglasville.

No arrests have been made in any of the three Paulding incidents.

“We do not know if they are linked or not,” Henson said. “Obviously they appear similar, but until we can locate any suspects, it is still undetermined.”
