This is the first Explorer training of this sort since 2009.

"The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Explorer program provides a community service organization for anyone between the ages of 14-21 interested in a law enforcement career and to allow young men and women to better understand the role of law enforcement in today's society," according to the Paulding County website. "The Explorer Post also provides members with training and experience in leadership, teamwork and positive self-confidence. By identifying interested youth and exposing them to law enforcement, the Explorers Post is used to attract possible future deputies."
