Health Department Addition, Drainage Project Earn Approval

The Paulding Board of Commissioners quickly approved the low bids on two proposed projects at Tuesday night's business session.

The Paulding Board of Commissioners wasted little time Tuesday approving three items at its 7 p.m. business session. The items had been discussed .

Getting the nod from commissioners were the low bids from Gordon Contractors Inc. and Raker Construction Company LLC. The approved bids will see Gordon work on an emergency drainage project at Old Mill Road for $62,812, while Raker will construct a Women's, Infants, and Children's (WIC) addition to the Paulding County Health Department building, and make other site improvements, for $410,000.

A consent agenda item to reappoint Commission Chairman David Austin to the Wellstar Paulding County Hospital Authority for a three-year term from Jan. 1, 2012, to Dec. 31, 2014, also earned commissioners’ approval.
