Hiram Man Dies After I-75 Crash

The Cobb County Police Department continues to investigate Sunday's fatal crash.

Cobb County Police Department officials Monday identified the driver in a fatal crash that happened on Interstate 75 Sunday.

According to a CCPD news release, 32-year-old Michael York of Hiram was the driver of a yellow 2001 Ford Mustang going north on I-75 north of Hickory Grove Road. The vehicle, for reasons not yet known to CCPD Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Unit investigators, left the roadway, went down an embankment and collided with a tree in the center median.

York died as a result of his injuries, while a passenger in his car, Hysie Allen of Douglasville, sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities. Allen was taken by air ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital.
