Hiram Police Receive Donation of Tint Meters from Local Business

The meters will allow every patrol officer to have one assigned.

A press release from the Hiram City Manager Robbie Rokovitz:

Hiram, Georgia – February 21, 2014 - The City of Hiram Police Department and its patrol officers recently received a donation of 10 tint meters from Mr. Brandon Bryant of Bryant Dependable Motors, LLC.  Mr. Bryant’s donation will allow every officer assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division to have his/her own tint meter.

Chief Vande Zande commented, “The legislative intent behind the creation of the window tint law was to mitigate the hazards that officers face during traffic stops.  Passenger vehicles with dark window tint or highly reflective window tint inhibit the ability of an officer to respond quickly to movements within a vehicle that are being made for illicit purposes either to harm the approaching officer or destroying evidence of a crime .”
