Hiram Resident Killed in Early Morning Crash

Ester Kim, 22, dies after two-car crash on Georgia 61.

An early Friday crash claimed the life of a Hiram resident.

Georgia State Patrol officials say 22-year-old Ester Kim was killed in the two-vehicle crash that occurred about 6:35 a.m. on Georgia 61, one mile north of Windmill Drive.

The GSP said Kim's 2002 Honda Civic was traveling west on Mount Moriah Road when it ran a stop sign as was struck in the driver's side by a 2000 Ford Explorer going north on Georgia 61.

The driver of the Explorer was Crescencio Hernandez, 30, of Austell. Β He and a passenger were not injured in the crash.

No charges were filed and alcohol was not involved in the crash, which was investigated by troopers from the GSP's Cartersville post.
