Two 13-year-olds who were passengers in one of two vehicles involved in a Monday morning crash on Dallas Nebo Road at Sam Alexander Road were severely injured, authorities say.

Lt. Paul Cosper of the Georgia State Patrol late Monday morning said the two were riding in a maroon Toyota Tundra that collided with a white Ford F250. The two adult drivers of the vehicles received visible injuries but none as serious as the teens'.

Cosper said initial reports show that the F250 crossed the center line and struck the Tundra head on. Charges are pending in the crash, he added.

According to Cpl. Brandon Gurley of the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, who was on the scene following the crash, arrangements were being made to transport the children to an Atlanta area children's hospital or other trauma unit.
