Man to Face Additional Child Molestation Charges

The Paulding and Douglas County Sheriff's Offices teamed up to arrest Joseph Mark Sanders on charges of child molestation and investigators are seeking help from people who may have more information in the case.

The Lithia Springs man who was arrested by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department on Aug. 27 and charged with aggravated child molestation, will likely be transferred to Paulding County where he will face more child molestation charges, Corporal Ashley Henson said in an email, Paulding Sheriff's Office.

Joseph Mark Sanders, 54, was arrested after detectives with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children (CAC) Division had been working in conjunction with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on this case for many weeks.

According to authorities in Douglas County, Sanders will likely face multiple counts of child molestation for acts that occurred in Douglas County. Sanders is currently being held in the Douglas County jail without bond. Once Sanders is adjudicated in Douglas County he will be transferred to Paulding County where he will face more child molestation charges.

Paulding CAC detectives explained that the investigation into Sanders is in the
beginning phases. They further stated that more charges are expected in Paulding County and that he may face charges in other states as well. CAC detectives are asking anyone that may have information regarding the Sanders case to call 770-445-6105.
