New Charge for Suspect in Robbery, I-75 Chase

She was arrested Monday on a charge of armed robbery.

A Dallas woman arrested in connection with a robbery and high-speed chase that forced authorities Monday afternoon to temporarily shut down Interstate 75 in both directions faces a new charge.

Ancely Faye Green, 39, was arrested Monday on a charge of armed robbery, said Officer Mike Bowman with the Cobb County Police Department. According to a Cobb County criminal warrant, she now faces an additional charge of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer for a felony offense.

Other new details are outlined in the warrant, including the fact that the woman was "homeless" at the time of the incident.

About 10:54 a.m. Monday, Green walked into the Acworth SunTrust Bank at 1755 Mars Hill Rd. and "presented a written note instructing the recipient to empty all the tills," a Cobb police officer wrote in the warrant.

The note also indicated that "the accused was strapped with a bomb," records show.

When she received $425, she drove away from the bank in a black 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Officers spotted the Trailblazer on Mars Hill Road and tried to make a traffic stop.

"When patrol officers attempted to conduct a felony stop of the vehicle," the officer wrote in the warrant, "the accused fled and led patrol officers on a vehicular pursuit at speeds of 100 m.p.h."

Authorities pursued the Trailblazer southbound on Mars Hill Road to Macland Road; eastbound on Macland Road to Windy Hill Road; eastbound on Windy Hill Road to I-75; and southbound on I-75 to Mount Paran Road.

"The accused was identified at the termination of the pursuit which was Interstate 75 near its junction with West Paces Ferry," the officer wrote in the warrant.

Authorities shut down I-75 South, then the entire interstate.

No explosive devices were found in Green's car or at SunTrust Bank. Just after 1:30 p.m. Monday, officials reopened I-75 in both directions.

Green was taken into custody without incident. She is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

Cobb County judge Tuesday morning denied bond for Green, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

Though the warrant indicates that Green is homeless, Fox 5 Atlanta reports that she rented a house in Dallas for about five years.

Neighbors told the station that Green was a quiet woman who lived at the home with her 91-year-old grandmother and three children.

Her next court appearance, according to Fox 5 Atlanta, is June 11.
