Sheriff's Department: Officer, Citizen OK After Crash

A Wednesday morning crash at highways 278 and 92 sent two drivers to the hospital, though neither sustained serious injuries.

Two drivers, including a Paulding County Marshal's Bureau officer, were released from hospital care Wednesday following a crash earlier that day, authorities say.

The two were taken to hospitals after a two-vehicle crash at highways 278 and 92 in Hiram about 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to Cpl. Brandon Gurley of the . Paulding County Sheriff's officials via the department's Facebook page Wednesday evening reported that the two had been released from the hospital.

Georgia State Patrol Lt. Paul Cosper Wednesday afternoon said initial reports state that a Ford Explorer pulled out in front of the marshal's vehicle, causing the crash, though neither driver was reported to have been seriously injured. He said no charges are pending against the Explorer driver, though they will likely receive a citation for failure to yield.
