Overnight Homicide Reported on Macland Road
Paulding deputies are working with the GBI to determine what happened in the deadly assault.
detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred on Macland Road around Covington Drive about 11:11 p.m. Wednesday. The Criminal Investigations Division at the sheriff’s office is working with agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in order to determine who committed the murder.
Paulding County deputies last night responded to the area of Macland Road and Covington Drive regarding a 911 call of an assault where someone was possibly shot. When deputies arrived, a 23-year-old man was found unresponsive. The victim was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by doctors.
Detectives and agents have been working through the night in order to obtain leads, trying to determine what occurred in the incident. Detectives urge anyone that may have seen this incident or know anyone involved to contact the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 770- 443-3015.
