PCSO Assisting in Search for Shooters

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team is among the authorities searching for the men involved in a Sunday shooting in Bartow County.

Twenty deputies from the have joined officials from Bartow and Cherokee counties as well as the and other agencies in a .

Those 20 are part of the PCSO’s SWAT team, which was activated at 4 a.m. today to assist in the search for the three gunmen, PCSO Sgt. Brandon Gurley told Dallas-Hiram Patch. Cartersville Patch reported around midday that one of the three men accused of the shooting had been arrested and taken to the for questioning.

Gurley said the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office works closely with agencies from surrounding counties and assists anytime there is a need for more manpower than one area’s agencies can provide.

The Paulding SWAT Team members, Gurley added, are among those searching the estimated 5,500 acres of woods between Upper Sweetwater off Georgia 20 and Lake Allatoona. The search, he said, has officials with all involved agencies working as one team, with smaller teams of searchers deployed from an incident command center.
