PCSO: 'Cops for Kids' Phone Solicitations Fake

Paulding authorities have received reports of these phone calls in recent days.

Paulding County deputies are warning the public that those claiming to seek funds to help a nonprofit’s Christmastime project are nothing but a bunch of Grinches.

According to spokesman Ashley Henson, authorities have received reports of residents receiving phone solicitations from individuals seeking funds for Cops for Kids, an annual outreach program by the sheriff’s office.

Henson says the Cops for Kids program does no solicitations for the program by phone, and warns those who receive such calls not to give any such callers money or personal information.
