Police: Wife Accused of Killing Husband

Jeanie Rebecca Caldwell was found in the woods near a burning house where her husband was discovered dead.

A Paulding County woman has been charged with killing her husband after his body was found in a burning house.

Jeanie Rebecca Caldwell, 59, was found in the woods Saturday near the couple's burning house where Billy Gene Caldwell, 64, was discovered dead.

An autopsy confirmed that Caldwell’s death was a homicide, according to Cpl. Ashley Henson, Paulding County Sheriff's Office.

Police then began interviewing her about the incident.

After the interview, Caldwell was subsequently charged with the felony murder of her husband. Jeanie Caldwell is currently being held in the Paulding County Detention Center without bond.
